Just what it says on the box - which of the Beasts of the Mesozoic raptor figure is your favorite? Edit: It is my utmost embarrassment to report that I misspelled 'Acheroraptor' and found that I had no option to correct my mistake after posting the poll. Please forgive me!

I love the lammergeier look in general, and I love velociraptors the most, so that won. But Linheraptor was a VERY close second. I am considering snatching that one up too..

The very first raptor that caught my eye was Dromaeosaurus albertensis, the one with the snowy wintery backdrop, and thought it would look quite at home in snowy Canada (which is silly because at the time Canada was half underwater and busy being cool and tropical). Still, there had to have been some snow and thus Dromaeosaurus albertensis was a snowbird.
(DO IT. GET A LINHERAPTOR)

Back when the 'raptors were only sketches, I didn't expect to love Linheraptor, but once the model was there and painted, I utterly fell in love with it. It's currently the figure I'm looking forward to the most. Curious if my assessment will change once I actually have the darlings... Dromaeosaurus is second spot for me, although probably largely because its colouring is practically identical with the colouring of the 'raptorian descendents in my book *cough* thereby making it a far too excellent reference for me...Also, I have no idea how Balaur will look in person, so I've left it out of the above ranking for now. I loved the sketches of that and it was my favourite during that phase, but I just don't know how the intended iridescence holds up in the actual figures. If it's survived into production and is noticeable, I'm sure it'll easily displace Linheraptor. Time will tell!

I debated between ordering Linheraptor and Balaur, but ultimately decided on Linheraptor because she fit my Empress OC I had in my head a lot better. But Balaur was soooo close to being ordered haha.

Now that I actually have some of the figurines, I still have to say Linheraptor. I actually teared up a bit while putting her together, she's so lovely! <3 Balaur doesn't appear to have any iridescence, but is still pretty. (Micoraptor from the Forest accessory pack, though, *does* have iridescence, and it's gorgeous.) A lot of 'raptors I thought I'd be lukewarm about turned out really, really nicely, so it's surprisingly difficult to rank them. If you put a gun to my head, I'd say: Linheraptor > Fan's choice Dromaeosaurus > Balaur > Atrociraptor > Fan's choice Pyroraptor > Velociraptor mongoliensis > Fan's choice Zhenyuanlong > Pyroraptor (regular) > Dromaeosaurus (regular) > Velociraptor osmolskae (red) > Zhenyuanlong (regular) ...although my Velociraptor has a bit of a pout and if I manage to get that corrected it's entirely conceivable it might slide up to second place. I'd definitely want to reassess my impression, at any rate! Of the wave one 'raptors, the biggest surprises were: 1) the FC Dromaeosaurus - I thought I'd be lukewarm to that colouration, but when I'm actually in a room with it, it's really beautiful! I guess it just isn't very photogenic. -and- 2) the regular Dromaeosaurus. I thought I'd like this one a lot, with its muted colours, but it doesn't really excite me at all. It was the first figure I unpacked (when I was still in "anxious concern" mode) and is rather stiff-jointed, which no doubt doesn't help the impression, but I haven't warmed to it just yet. We'll see what time brings! ...I'm also really looking forward to Adasaurus and Saurornitholestes langstoni from wave 2! I guess we'll see how much I get my ranking of those wrong. ^_^
