My current WIP is a re-creation of my favorite toy duo from when I was a kid. Similar to Neca's redo of the old Kenner toys, I want to make an updated, collector quality version of the Lost World Velociraptor figure I used to have: Mixed with this guys patterns: Here is my concept sketch of him: And here is some shots of the partially painted figure: His companion was my G.I. Joe Scarlett, re-named Piper O'Hara: Who I'm going to remake using the DC Bombshells Hawk girl figure: I've given both of them a story together as well as new names and histories. I'm hoping to post some of said story in the format of diary entires with little snapshot photos.

This honestly looks like a fantastic project! I really like the blended concept art of the raptor and the idea of recreating a toy duo from your childhood, and look forward to seeing pictures. There's so much potential for storytelling.

The painting on the face looks so precise! Very impressive! I love how the black painting looks deep and shinny, I bet it'll look even better when he's all done, in contrast with the white parts of his body, very nice design!

There's so much potential for storytelling. Thank you! Yeah, Neca started creating collector quality figures based off of old toys so that's where I got the idea. It should be fun, I already have a few different diary entries/photos that I want to do

I'm hoping to have him done this weekend so I can take pictures of him with my incoming raptor gang

What a blast from the past! @ i1295.photobucket.com/albums/b628/Oxentiel/e6e52693188f46ac4e1f70c8cec0e9a5_zpsmz8tclvf.jpgI had two of those. I should still *have* two of those, in a box somewhere, for that matter, though one has taken a bit of damage over time (a joint gave out, if I'm not misremembering). Those were just great. I love your concept sketch! Can't wait to see more photos of your progress on this. Good luck getting it done exactly the way you want!

(May I ask how you managed to get the parts of the figure apart? I'm thinking about taking my second build-a-raptor apart to paint her more thoroughly - ie. not miss things covered by joints - but want to get an idea of how to do it)
